Mulhouse tourist information
where to go - what to see - what to doMulhouse is an industrial city that grew in prosperity around the 1800s due to its printed cotton fabric trade. It was badly bombed during WWII and you may think that Mulhouse is not worth a visit. However, there are two good reasons to come to Mulhouse.
Firstly, there are some excellent museums including the Musee de L'Impression sur Etoffes which is dedicated to the history of Mulhouse's textile and fabric painting industry. Secondly, Mulhouse is a great base for discovering the rolling landscape of the Sundgau over the border in Switzerland.
Mulhouse also boasts extensive shopping, Swiss wine bars and some appealing Alsatian taverns where you'll be able to sample sauerkraut and flowery white wines such as Riesling and Gewurztraminer.
