Valognes is a pretty town that prides itself on its historical and cultural heritage.  It is situated right in the heart of the Cotentin Peninsula not far from the port of Cherbourg and the D-Day landing beaches. 

It is also the ideal spot for exploring some the marshy landscape that forms the Parc Regional des Marais du Cotentin et du Bassin.  Here you'll find a number of bird sanctuaries and numerous outdoor pursuits and leisure activities!
