Giverny tourist information

where to go - what to see - what to do

Most people come to Giverny to bask in the glory of Claude Monet who lived in Giverny from 1883 to 1926.  It was here that Monet painted some of his most famous works including Decorations des Nympheas better known as Water Lilies.

The Musee Claude Monet was his home and studio.  However, it's the gardens that are a truly magnificent, taking on a different look with the changing of the seasons; daffodils, tulips, rhododendrons in Spring and nasturtiums, roses and sweet peas in Summer.  You'll also be able to contemplate the dappled light which falls on the Jardin d'Eau which was specifically created by Monet to achieve an intimate atmosphere.

Once you've had your fill of Monet related memorabilia, head to the Musee d'Art Americain Giverny with its impressive stock of 19th-20th century artworks.
