Gramat tourist information

where to go - what to see - what to do

Gramat established itself as a prosperous town in the 19th century with the arrival of the railways.   With trade centred around its truffle production it became known as the 'Capital of the Causses'.  Local farmers also had a reputation for raising and training quality thoroughbreds for the French army.

Today, Gramat is a dignified, well-preserved town and ideal for discovering the famous pilgrimage centre of Rocamadour, the prehistoric caves to the north and the Parc Naturel Regional des Causses du Haut Quercy with its numerous walking, riding and cycling opportunities.
