Pornichet tourist information

where to go - what to see - what to do

Pornichet sits on a beautiful stretch of coastline just east of La Baule.  It offers three top quality beaches that cater for families and water sports enthusiasts (Librairies), nature lovers (Bonne Source backed by dunes) and those looking for a more secluded beach experience (Sainte-Marguerite). Some great coastal walks are also accessible from Sainte Marguerite beach.

All three beaches organise supervised activities for children (for example, volleyball competitions and nature trails) throughout the summer months and if you are keen on sailing, scuba diving, surfing or windsurfing then you've come to the right place.  There are not many watersports that aren't catered for in Pornichet.  However, if watersports aren't your bag then a new golf school has just been opened (in 2006) which offers lessons on a daily basis.  Cycle routes are also clearly marked in and around Pornichet.  If all this seems like far too much activity then head to the Thalasso Daniel Jouvance - a spa which offers a whole raft of therapies and treatments.

Summer is a great time to be in Pornichet when the streets come alive with music concerts, plays and various performing arts at the Festival of Renc'Arts.  Much the same as La Baule, Pornichet has its own style of architecture with sumptious villas that were built around the turn of the century.  A trip out the islands opposite (Belle-ile-en-mer, Hoat and Hoedic) also makes for an enjoyable day out.
