Digne tourist information

where to go - what to see - what to do

Digne is the capital of the Alpes de Haute-Provence department and lies at the centre of Provence's lavender production.  Harvest celebrations commence in August on the first weekend of the month during the Corso de la Lavande

Digne is also a spa town that welcomes numerous visitors who come in search of a cure for rheumatism, respiratory disease and other illnesses.  The enviable central boulevard lined with cafés and chic boutiques provides the perfect hangout for spa-goers and other visitors.

Digne also lies at the heart of the Reserve Naturelle Geologique known for its impressive fossil deposits.  The reserve's headquarters is based at St-Benoit and organises guided visits highlighting rare fossils, plants and fish that live in one of the reserve's many aquariums.
