Megeve tourist informationwhere to go - what to see - what to do
Megeve is a charmingly authentic Alpine village which has retained its identity whilst catering for all that an upbeat, expensive ski resort requires. Unsurprisingly this is where the French come to ski!
Megeve was developed in the 1920s for a French noble lady looking for an alternative to the busy slopes of St-Moritz - today it boasts one of the best ski schools in Europe and is well connected to neighbouring ski resorts such as St-Gervais. After a day of skiing you may want to wander down to the delightful village square and the medieval-style streets that fan out from this central hub.
Summer activities are equally enticing with fantastic hiking in the Mont d'Arbois, Bettex and Mont Joly areas. Mountain biking is also popular between Val d'Arly, Mont Blanc and Beaufortain.
